Kevo cant dance is an acoustic indie pop punk band I started in late 2011after my departure from the locally acclaimed PA band Pitfall Combat. My aim as a solo artistis to bring the same energy and intensity to crowds as any full band does. My lyricsattempt to send a positive and hopeful message in the most quirky and sarcasticway possible, and my guitar melodies are poised to trigger crowds to clap theirhands and sing along. Coming from a small town has definitely been a difficult yet rewarding task to grow a fan-base. Central PA doesn't have a vast array of venues to choose from so playing the house and basement show circuit became imperative for me to grow and improve as an artist. From late 2011-2012 that's what I did; I played in friends basements, frats, living rooms and warehouses and it was a great experience.I also concentrated on reaching out to people in person and through social networking and startedto build a steady following of friends, fans, and contacts. I recorded my first EP "Acoustacore"in October 2012, a rough 4 track basement recording which was met with local praise. The albumhas sold 1,528 units and 453 downloads to date. In November A music video for the single "Acoustacore"was made and included a lot of fans and friends.

 

            At the start of 2013 I made it a goal to play more venues, start writing and recording a full length album , and play as many shows as possible. I started playing more bars and clubs and venues as a supporting act for local and national bands of every genre. It was at this time that I adopted my high energy stage presence to match the high energy of the full bands I wassharing the stage with every night. I started being more animated, reciting strange stories and poetry, smashing guitars full of candy and confetti and inviting friends, strangers and fans on stage to sing with me. My favorite stage pastime is a game I call the challenge. The challenge is when I tell the audience to try to do anything possible to make me mess up the song "acoustacore" (which is very hard for them to accomplish). The winner gets a prize. 2013 was a breakout year for me; I played 91 shows, grew a fan-base around the east coast, and opened for some of my favorite artists; (Andrew Jackson Jihad (plan it x records), Cheap Girls -(rise records), Masked intruder (Fat Wreck chords) and many others.

 

           2014 looks to be a magical year for me. My first full length album "the mediocre gatsby" is set to be released in March and I am already confirmed to play  Statik Fest in June that includes CI bands like Texas in July. My goals for this year are to play 200+ shows, be part of Launch Music Fest in Apriland win a spot on warped tour acoustic basement. I would also like to work with an independent label and go on a coast to coast tour.
